R. v. Switzer [2004] A.J. No. 527; 2004 ABQB 360
http://www.canlii.org/ab/cas/abqb/2004/2004abqb360.html

FACTS: Trial of Switzer who was charged with extortion and threats of bodily harm. It is alleged that Switzer threatened Bull for payment of a previous loan. Allegedly Switzer demanded more money then the original loan. Bull was 17 years old at the time of the loan; he had recognizable symptoms of FASD. Bull had signed documents in relation to the loan, but they were possibly fraudulent.

HELD: Mr. Switzer was found not guilty. There was some inconsistent evidence of a threat. When the threats occurred could not be established. This was important because they would have had to have taken place before the repayment of the loan. Reasonable doubt was established.
