The FASD Ontario Justice Committee (members of the
FASD Stakeholders of Ontario) has developed this website with funding
from the Public Health Agency of Canada, as a resource for justice
system professionals and others who are grappling to understand FASD.
We hope that this website will put case law, legal resources,
background information, and practical tips close at hand. We also hope
that it will offer strategies for dealing with the unique problems
presented by offenders, victims and witnesses with FASD in
compassionate, fair and effective ways.
This website is a
Canadian resource. However, at this
point in time, the community resources listed on the site are mainly Ontario resources, since
it is developed by FASD Ontario Justice Committee members. In time and with
input from the users of the site, we will expand our list.
Please note, this
site is not interactive; we cannot respond to inquiries about individual cases
or answer queries about content.
Please check our links to locate other
resources that provide that service.
The Case Law
section of the site will be updated with new decisions that refer to FASD. Also, with the help of your feedback, we will
do a comprehensive review of the content of the site.
